SPECIAL WORSHIP SERVICE AND INAUGURATION CEREMONY DETAILS

Part 1: Intro

The ceremony will start with church bells from the Abbey of St. Wandrille in France which will last 1½ minutes to bring everyone into a prayerful mode, then we will hear Agnus Dei and the Beatitudes from the Oxford Choir to open the ceremony in a celestial atmosphere and bring our spirit Heavenward, followed by harp music from Debussy called Arabesque to bring us in the Spirit of Jesus as we will unveil a magnificent 5-foot tall painting of His revealed photograph and who will be overlooking His Urantia Family united together to celebrate its official birth on earth. We will then hear some historical Words of Christ as a personal welcome from Jesus played from Pato’s new CD that he will launch at the event. Then we will see a special video to introduce the unveiling of an 8-foot tall poster of The Urantia Book that shows our beautiful blue planet on it. Finally, we will recite Vern Grimsley’s poem on humankind as one large family, first in Spanish, then in French and after in English recited by Vern himself who will be doing it from behind the scenes. We will then unveil the 8-foot tall poster of his poem. Vern was initially planning to attend the Festival and speak in person. Unfortunately, he is not currently in the best of health and therefore will not be able to attend in person. He has promised, however, to record a message that will last about 20 minutes, which we will play for everyone, accompanied by a slideshow of photographs of past events where Vern spoke.

Part 2: Worship Service

We will then move on to the worship service, which will start with a song especially written and composed for the event by Barbara Hester who will play it at the piano followed by a live song with our beloved minister Pato Banton. They each have 2 songs of 5 minutes each to perform, one to announce the beginning of the worship service and one to announce the end. After their first song, Paula Thompson, David Glass and Charles Olivea will officiate a beautiful 45-minute worship service in English to make official the birth of The United Urantia Family on earth and Pierre Routhier and Line St-Pierre from Montreal will be doing a 15-minute French part where they will share with the assembled Family how the Urantia Family started in Quebec many years ago. We will then close the worship service with Barbara and Pato’s performances of their second songs. Finally we will move on to Part 3 with the remembrance supper.

Part 3: Remembrance Supper

Everyone will be invited to partake of the Bread of Life and the Water thereof and commune in the presence of our beloved Jesus Christ Michael who will be blessing us from above. For that, the representatives of the 7 major organizations, namely the Foundation, the Association, the Fellowship, the Urantia Family, FSUB, UB youth, and an unaffiliated reader will be invited to come on stage and join the 7 worship officers, and each will give a short testimony of their vision and participation as a member of the United Urantia Family. Next, the representatives of 7 major UB projects that are working at disseminating the Fifth Epochal Revelation on Urantia will be invited to each give a short speech - namely, Urantia University for education, Moussa from Africa for international teaching, Jay Peregrine for the translations, Jon DeToy for the missions, Ann Garner for communications, Meredith Tenney for the Garden Project, as well as a representative from InnerLife International. Finally, we will invite everyone to come join us and partake of the Bread of Life, freshly baked on the same day, along with the Water of Life, which will be offered in the form of wine. All the members of the Urantia Family present will then come and join us on stage and we will commune altogether in the Spirit of Jesus.

Important: There will be an official certificate presented to authenticate the birth of the United Urantia Family on earth and the names of all those present at the event will be printed on it. Everyone will be invited to come and sign our United Urantia Family Birth Certificate next to their name. This certificate, together with the video record of the whole event that Eric Cosh has graciously accepted to produce, will allow future generations to retrace their roots to this momentous event. We are very grateful to Eric for volunteering to create a video recording that will document this important birth for future generations of the United Urantia Family.
